Featured Project: Old Beaupre Castle, Vale of Glamorgan

As works at Old Beaupre Castle for CADW come to an end, NSE thought we would share some information regarding this specialist conservation project.

The project has lasted approximately 2 months and the nature of work to the inner porch has included the following,

  • Specialist conservation consolidation
  • Conservation cleaning
  • Masonry replacement
  • Lead work and roofing developments.

Pictures from the finished contract will be available soon!

Below is a testimonial for the above works from P. Hughes, the Conservation & Design Officer fir CADW.

''We engaged NSE Contracts Limited, to undertake conservation works to Old Beaupre Castle a Medieval and Tudor manor house which is a Scheduled Ancient Monument. This project presented considerable conservation challenges involving the use of delicate conservation and repair techniques to eroding carved stone details, in particular to the extraordinary inner porch. The works were executed under extremely difficult conditions (winter 2010/11) and were completed on time with care and attention to detail.''
